You may choose existing air quality grids, by clicking theOpen button, and selecting an air
quality grid, which is designated with an “.aqg” extension. You may also create a new air quality
grid by clicking theNew button. This will take you to window for Air Quality Grid Creation
Method, where you follow the same steps outlined in the chapter on air quality grid creation.
ThePollutant specified in the air quality grids determines the suite of health impact functions
available for the configuration. Only functions associated with the specified pollutant will be
available for the configuration. Furthermore, if only certainMetrics associated with the pollutant
are present in one (or both) of the air quality grids (this see the information on monitor and model
data formats above for more information on how this can occur) only those health impact
functions associated with those metrics will be available.
In choosing thePopulation DataSet and Population Year, you specify the population data that
will be used in the health impact function. The values in the menu for thePopulation Year
depend on the range of values in yourPopulation DataSet.
